grants of immunity

As we all know, the media recently have focused a lot of time and attention on the “swine flu.” Now that the vaccine has become available in limited quantities, the media have been devoting their attention to where the vaccine is supposed to be available. More importantly, they have been reminding us over and over again as to the age groups that will be able to avail themselves of the vaccine.

In case you have not noticed, one group of people is notably absent from being to obtain protection against the “swine flu” by obtaining the vaccine. The fact is that the vaccine is not available to “seniors” over the age of 64. The logic put forth is that many of these “seniors” may have been exposed to this type of flu previously, and therefore, they may have built up an immunity to it. That is an awful lot of assumptions about immunity for one category of people, and so far none of the media have presented statistical evidence supporting the conclusion about immunity for “seniors.”

Normally, I would not become overly concerned about a flu vaccine, nor would I get excited about all of the media attention being given to a “flu outbreak.” Normally, I would consider this “media blitz” nothing but another “chicken dance” to sell their story. Given all of the recent “goings on” by the federal government and by the media regarding “health care,” I began to wonder if the distribution plan for the H1N1 vaccine is a clear indication of what the federal government may really be thinking about in terms of “health care” coverage, or the lack thereof, for “senior” citizens.

Before you write this commentary off as just some cynical critique of the potential “health care” program we may be facing, take a few more minutes to consider the following:

1. As I have pointed out in earlier articles, government involvement in business is not about profits, it is about control. Health care run by the government is just another means to control another aspect of our lives by dictating who is and who is not eligible for a specific treatment.

2. By taking control of “health care”, the government also gets to grow by virtue of establishing another czar and another agency.

3. We all know the pundits are forecasting that Medicare and social security systems are not sustainable over the long term. I guess that means there are more “seniors” becoming eligible for these programs; thereby, putting another financial strain on the programs.

4. Is there really an ulterior motive here? Is there an underlying thought process that says certain services and treatments should be withheld from “seniors” on the basis that the cost to society exceeds the return on a particular “senior’s” life expectancy? Who do you suppose will make that determination? My best guess is some young government clerk with absolutely no medical background or expertise!

5. Is withholding the H1N1 vaccine the precursor of what is to come with regard to other health services once the government is in control of who gets care?

Oh yes, just one more thing to think about. How many of our “senior” elected officials and government staffers do you suppose have been denied access to the H1N1 vaccine?

no scam grants

Have you ever received a post card in the mail that said “You Are Guaranteed a $25,000 Grant from the U.S. Government?

Use your money to: pay bills, start or expand a business, pay for your children’s education, help you purchase or fix up your own home, or even travel the world. Then the document say that this is your final notice respond by a specific deadline.

What does your gut tell you? That this is just another scam? You are correct. It is very easy to check into these types of high pressure sales tactics. When you call the number they will offer you a grant guide for $59.00. This grant guide will have only addresses and names of grant places that you can apply to. Then the rest is up to you to make application. In other words they are not doing anything for you. What they are offering you can do yourself. Grants are not benefits or entitlements, a federal grant is an award of the financial assistance to carry out a public purpose of support or stimulation authorized by a law of the United States. In other words grants are not federal assistance or loans that you are entitled to.

Always remember no government agency will make phone calls, or send email, or letters to solicit money. Never give your personal information this is a tactic that identity thieves use to steal your identity. If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a federal agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized use of your account.

Federal Grants are not issued for personal use, but are intended for institutions and non profits to carry on projects with a public purpose. Whenever I receive any information with a lure I always check with the bbs.org to see if it is a scam. Also Grants. Gov is an excellent place to do your own research or government sponsored grants. So if you receive this type of post card. Now you know, there is no excuse to be duped into giving out personal information. Follow you gut instincts that this is a scam.

The Big Scam: A Novel of the FBI

The Big Scam: A Novel of the FBI

$5.99

Inside a nondescript cinder-block building in Manhattan, beyond the misleading sign that reads “Global Fish” and the attractive plainclothes FBI employee at the reception desk, Special Agent Nick Vanko is running a surprisingly successful undercover operation. His bosses consider him a hard case and the members of his squad a bunch of self-destructive freaks with disciplinary problems. But despite the regular investigations by internal affairs, the squad is capable of doing real Bureau work. They’ve been chipping away at the Brooklyn mob, where their prime target, the don’s anointed capo, Mike Parisi, is in the middle of a bitter power struggle with underboss Danny DiMiglia. DiMiglia is ruthless and unimaginative, but Parisi is smarter, and when Manny, one of his crew, finds twenty grand and a page from a hand-drawn map in his father’s abandoned safe deposit box, Parisi realizes he’s got the means to bring DiMiglia down. But first they have to retrieve the other half of the map, and it’s in an evidence room at the FBI. While the agents at Global Fish obstruct the FBIHQ inspector who’s just arrived, a female agent is assigned to the squad. Sheila’s got as many problems as the rest of them, but the most serious is her obsession with a serial murder investigation she’s been unable to solve. Vanko is rattled by his attraction to her and diverts the squad to help her find the killer, just as Parisi uses the map in a whopper of a scam to keep DiMiglia in check.

Steely Dan – The Royal Scam [Remaster]

$12.94

Steely Dan: Donald Fagen (vocals, keyboards); Walter Becker (guitar, bass).Additional personnel: Larry Carlton, Elliot Randall, Dean Parks, Dennis Dias (guitar); Chuck Findley, Bob Findley, Slyde Hyde, Jim Horn, Plas Johnson, John Klemmer (horns); Victor Feldman (keyboards, percussion); Paul Griffin, Don Grolnick (keyboards); Chuck Rainey (bass); Bernard Purdie, Rick Marotta (drums); Gary Coleman (percussion); Venetta Fields, Clydie KIng, Sherlie Matthews, Tim Schmit, Michael McDonald (background vocals).Recorded at ABC Studios, Los Angeles, California and A&R Studios, New York, New York. Includes liner notes by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen.Digitally remastered by Roger Nichols (Digital Atomics, Miami, Florida). All tracks have been digitally remastered. It was the year of America`s bicentennial celebration, but on 1976`s THE ROYAL SCAM, Steely Dan masterminds Fagen and Becker did not share in the exultant spirit of the times. The title track–a vision of fallen America from the point of view of immigrants–has a mock-celebratory chorus: "See the glory of the Royal Scam," which typifies SCAM`s heartfelt cynicism. In their next two releases (their last), Steely Dan`s sound would smoothen and incorporate less rock. This is perhaps their darkest record, and for a band known for its arch mixture of L.A. cool and ennui, that`s saying something.Guitar heroes were roundly worshipped in the `70s, and two of the record`s standout tracks, "Kid Charlemagne" and "Don`t Take Me Alive," feature incendiary axe work by Larry Carlton. Interestingly, both glorify outsiders: The former tells the story of legendary drug chemist Owsley Stanley, and the latter is a first-person account of a murderer on the lam. Other highlights: the crisp "Green Earrings" the lounge-chair funk of "Haitian Divorce" and the inscrutable "Fez," whose principal lyric is "I`m never gonna do it without the fez on/don`t make me do it without the fez on." government grant help

Helping one another out seems to be the plan of the current administration, but what exactly does all of this assisting one another entail? One method of helping each other out, that has been instituted by the current administration is Obama’s debt relief grant program.

The very nature of grants are that they aren’t money given to worthy individuals, who qualified for the assistance and this money is never required to be repaid. Everyone would like to be able to get free money, but that is not the case here. Not everyone can qualify to get free money from the government. As a matter of fact, there is really no such thing as free money.

Money is earned by somebody somewhere at some time. It is just that in the case of the debt relief grant program, that money is coming from the taxpayers and is intended to help out those folks who cannot help themselves. If an individual believes that they are one of those folks who cannot help themselves, it may be that you qualify for this grant program.

Okay, so hands are raised all over the audience. First of all, let me say that free money is not free-for-all. In fact, that money that is in the government coffers that is being used to fund government debt relief grant programs comes from taxpayers, who consistently pay their taxes on time every time.

For the individual that desires to get further their education and they do not have the funds to meet that need, there may be funds available to help with that. In addition to that there are funds available to help the small business owner, who is either trying to get their business off the ground or them entrepreneur, who is trying to get a new business started, there may be funds available to them as well.

Along with that, the entrepreneur who has personal debt that they need to pay off before going forward with their plans for a new business venture may be able to access a government debt relief grant program that will allow them to do that indirectly, by using funds granted to them for use in their business.

It seems like a long way around getting to the solution to an overwhelming problem, but with the help of the Obama’s new administration you can get the grant for debt relief that you need so badly.

NOTE: Getting a debt relief government grant is the easiest way of becoming debt free in the shortest span of time.

There are a number of computer schools in the United States that offer computer courses and have sprung up due to the increasing demand for trained Information Technology (IT) professionals. With so many schools and institutes to choose from, it is difficult to decide on the computer school that is best. In the decision process for the top computer schools, consider the reputation of the institute offering the computer courses, the type of courses offered, whether the latest courses are available, the faculty that is engaged and the success rate of the computer school. Most of this information is readily available in the computer school’s prospectus, brochure, or their website.

For an individual, it is practically impossible to find out all the information pertaining to all the relevant computer schools and compare them and arrive at the results for the top computer schools. Certain companies carry out yearly surveys about the various schools, colleges and universities and compile them based on the courses offered. The US News and World report had surveyed more than 2000 traditional colleges and virtual universities in the year 2006 and compiled a directory of the undergraduate and graduate level courses, certificates and degrees.

Based on their survey, The University of California, Berkeley, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University (PA), Stanford University, Cornell University (NY), University of Washington, Princeton University (NJ), Rice University (TX), University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University (MA), University of California-Los Angeles, and the Columbia University (NY) are some of the top ranking schools in the United States of America, in the computers field. There are some online computer schools as well that offer certificate, associate and graduate level courses in computers, to name a few, DeVry University, ITT Technical Institute and the University of Phoenix.

Computer Schools provides detailed information on Computer Schools, Computer Graphic Schools, Computer Training Schools, Computer Science Schools and more. Computer Schools is affiliated with Microsoft Certifications [http://www.i-Certification.com].

A food lover’s delight, an ecstasy for the taste buds; there’s no denying the fact that the turkey makes for a great dinner – one that all food lovers would look forward too. Every year on Thanksgiving this bird sends the taste buds of 95% of Americans into raptures. Even as we savor the turkey there are interesting facts about this about this bird that we often don’t care to take note of.

LetÂ’s take a look – 1) Research says that the turkey is over 10 million years old and has its origins in North and Central America. However, this ruling bird of Thanksgiving, the turkey, was domesticated in Mexico, where it was a bird of sacrifice. 2) There are two species of turkey – The North American Wild Turkey and The Central American Ocellated Turkey. 3) Farm-raised turkey cannot fly. Only wild turkeys have the ability to fly for short distances and are the fastest runners on ground among all birds. 4) They’re found in all US states except Alaska. Alaska it’s too cold for the turkeys. 5) American Indians were very fond of hunting wild turkeys because of its tasty flesh and for its feathers. The feathers of a turkey were used in arrows and to decorate their ceremonial attire. 6) Turkeys were once used to remove green worms from tobacco plants. 7) Benjamin Franklin had proposed in 1776 that the turkey be made the official symbol of the nation. However ultimately the bald eagle was chosen. Franklin later noted in a letter to his daughter “the turkey is a much more respectable bird, and withal a true original native of America.” 8) The Thanksgiving turkey is also well-known for its eggs, which are about double the size of the eggs of chicken. 9) A turkey egg takes approximately 28-30 days to hatch. 10) A baby turkey is called a ‘poultÂ’ and is tanned brown in color. 11) A male turkey is called a Tom while a female turkey is called a Hen. Only Toms can gobble. Hens communicate with clicking noises or pseudogobbles. 12) A hen can lay upto 100 eggs. 13) A full-grown turkey has about 3500 feathers approximately. 14) The long, loose piece of skin hanging from a turkeyÂ’s neck is known as ‘wattleÂ’. 15) A group of turkey is known as a flock. 16) Turkeys have a great sight, great hearing, great sense of taste, but a very poor sense of smell. 17) The Guiness Book of World Records holds that the largest weight recorded for a turkey (after having been dressed and cooked) is 86 pounds. This turkey-fic record was made on December 12, 1989. 18) The turkey industry is a very popular industry in the US, grossing over $1 billion each year. 19) An average American consumes about 15 pounds of turkey every year. On the day of Thanksgiving, Americans treat themselves to about 675 million pounds of turkey. 20) California consumes more turkey than any other US state.

21) In the historical 1969 voyage to the moon, the food packets of US astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin had roasted turkey and all other trimmings.
