Government really help in home improvement project, Depending on the specific grant you apply for and receive, these funds can be used to help you purchase new appliances, pay for the expansion of your home, finish your basement, or any other job that will either increase your property value or allow your house to run more efficiently.

Pell grant- this grant is based on income vs people in the household. Id you are unemployed, then you should be able to get the whole amount of the Pell, which currently is $5350 per aid year.

There are state opportunity grants based on income too. Most federal and state grants are based on income, so if you apply early, then you could quality for most or all of them.
References :
I am a Senior Financial Aid Coordiantor at ITT Tech.

Here's your problem, you go through DODMERB for AFROTC, not MEPS. Officers are held to higher standards than enlisted when it comes to the medical crap and your current waiver will not last forever, and it is NOT good for AFROTC, you'd have to get another waiver and hope for the best. This second waiver will be quite a bit harder to get. Besides, you probably don't have a shot at the actual AFROTC scholarship now as you'll probably be way behind academically since you weren't even planning on going to college (whereas your peers in AFROTC probably took calculus and AP Physics in high school) and you'll be fighting an uphill battle the entire way (starting at a juco is NOT preferable at all).
References :
NROTC Scholarship Midshipman

i actually had a VERY similar case. there are pros and cons to both situations,

i started out doing AFROTC at SDSU while attending a community college. you have to do your two years to trasfer and then it is 4 years at a university/ROTC to graduate the program.

ROTC Pros

You go into the Air Force as an officer after graduating: you get a bonus, and start making large amounts of money.

you dont have to go through each rank to work your way up and then "qualify" to even become officer after all that work.

youll be very intelligent in your Military career of choice before you even go in.

no-one yelling at you/ gettin up at the buttcrack of down (other than "boot camp" they make you go to during your time off school")

and im sure there are others but those are the main from what i know.

ROTC Cons

THIS IS A BIG ONE-ESPECIALLY FOR ME
4 to 7 years of school is a long time for a chance to hurt yourself or something happening in which even with the schooling and time; they wont be able to take you or you wont be able to get a broken arm/leg ect. waived (and you know how hard that is to wait to get something waived) it sucks and everything you worked for is over.

you could probably get to an officer rank (even though its one of the hardest branches to rank up in) in the time it takes to finish schooling.

school is free in the military along with meals, room/board, and cheaper products at the commissary
(although you cant take classes other than for your specific career for your contracted 36 months)

you are gauranteed a paycheck every 1st and 15th of the month

and again im sure there are more but from my knowledge, those are the main issues

like i said i had a very similar experience. if you have anymore questions or want to hear what happened to me. feel free to email me : skyrohde@yahoo.com
References :
1 year SDSU AFROTC; Bad Experience at the MEPS (getting Waived):Currently in the delayed entry program set to go to Basic Training for Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic on March 09 2010

Go with your instincts, you can do Air Force reserve and go through training/tech school come back by the fall semester and start your freshman year. With this you can also be paid as a reservist while maybe even getting cadet money by joining AFROTC. Whatever you do, keep your recruiter informed and just be honest about it. Tell him you waited a couple months and got tired of sitting around not doing a damn thing.

Good luck and God bless.
References :
Medical waivers don't last forever, there is a time limit on how long you can use it before you can apply again. You might as well use it and try to go officer later rather then risk not being able to get another waiver.
References :
This certainly seems like a useful post, as the service seems to solve a problem many people have with favourite sites and multiple services. In fact, I have thought a couple of times of dropping some accounts and adding everything into the one source.

uh....I'd hand the whole mess to a real estate lawyer and advise the title company that closed the deal that they would be getting a bill.

Hopefully you got owners title insurance; the policy underwriter might also fix and pay for some of this mess.
References :
land title agent
