President Obama has given a lot of attention to education. This is obviously the main concern of his administration because he wants to get people to go back to school and experience the benefits of having a diploma. Mothers are one of the specific targets of the President because he knows that a lot of them are stuck with low paying jobs and no opportunities to get a better life.
The President increased his scholarship which is called the Pell Grant. Now students can get up to $5,000 as a financial aid for education. It is a needs based grant specifically for the low income families. These are for the people who do not get a chance. So now is a great time to go back to school and further your studies.
There are just a few things to consider when getting the Pell Grant. One is the EFC or the Expected Family Contribution. The college or school you would want to attend and its cost. It will also check if you will be a full time or part time student. Lastly, the length of stay in a school year would also be looked at. These are some factors to determine how much an applicant or the grant can get as funds for school.
President Obama has a vision for a better future and he knows when he gives people education then it will have advantages for the individual and the country. A lot of people would be able to rise from mediocrity and become better role models as mothers. This grant also does not need to be paid unlike loans. The government wants mothers to apply for the Pell grant and further their studies so it would be easier for them to find a career and a high paying job.
