Sportscaster or Politician?

So, I’m a junior in high school and I’ve been thinking about a career as a sportscaster (like Howard Cossel, Al Michaels, or Jack Buck) because I’ve been a HUGE sports fan for as long as i can remember. However, I have also always been interested in politics. When I was little my dream was to become President someday. I don’t know which career path to take. I’m seriously considering going to college at Oklahoma State (6 hours from my home in Little Rock) because they offer a sports media degree. Because no school in AR offers that degree I might get granted resident status. Also my mother is an alumni so I get a legacy scholarship. I’m thinking that majoring in sports media and minoring in political science might be my best option. Then, if i wanted to pursue a
possible political career, I could attend law school in my home town at UALR. Can somebody please give me some advice?

Do what you love. It’s really difficult to get into politics and sportscasting, but it’s worth a shot. It may not work out, but at least when you look back you’ll know you tried your best. I would go into broadcasting because it’s less grueling than politics, where your position is less stable and you have to deal with angry people all of the time. Unless you are firmly committed to making a difference in the world, I would pick broadcasting at OKST.

Own a business, invest in business, invest in stocks etc. Billionaires have a passion for work, not earning money, if they did they would stop after 1 billion wouldn’t they.
