how do i get my Medical assistant certification since i am a 4N051 in the AF?

i was told there was a school that woudl grant you a certificate based upon your training….thanks for the help

Any school that will grant you certification because of the training you receive OUTSIDE that school is very shady. There are some schools that grant Associate Degrees for “life experience” that have been questioned as scams.

As far as for Med Asst, check with your State Healthcare Licensing Department. There are usually certification tests that need to be passed before you are awarded a license to practice in the State. If you have the training, you should be able to sit for the exams without having to formally go through school.

If you do have to go through school, talk to your CO and ask about schools through the Air Force. Some schools do grant credits for testing out of courses (demonstrating that you have the basic principles of that class mastered from other extraining or experience) that may allow you to finish certificate requirements at a faster pace. You will have to pay for these exams, usually, but it isn’t the full amount of tuition.

If you are able to challenge through a school, make sure that it is an accredited college or university.

1. Find an on-campus dormitory to live in. This is one of the most important things a college freshman should do. Attempt at least to do so for the first year or two of college. Alright, maybe college dorms may not have that much appeal; after all dorm buildings have that reputation of being old and musty smelling with communal bathrooms and showers that are a far cry from mom’s pink bathroom at home; but being forced to live with twenty or fifty other students in a single building is essential to your first year social life.

The friends that you meet during your first few months will be the friends that will stay with you all your life. There are endless activities and groups and dorm parties and the list go on. But really, it’s a freshman dorm so all the other kids that are in that building are like you: fresh out of high school and trying to figure out what college life is. 2. Don’t play hooky. Going to college is not just about the parties and the beer and the delicious independence. You went to college to study. When it comes to handling coursework or classes, you can get advice a dime a dozen but the best thing, the only thing that you can do to stay on top of your studies and grades, is to go to class.

3. Pay attention to schedule making. That’s what they have freshman advisers for. Because working on your schedule is just as important as the courses you are taking. If you feel, you know that an 8 am class is torture for you, it is better to switch to a class on the 10 am schedule, should there be any.

4. Come clean. About your professor’s expectations of you as a student. These days, when everything can be posted and accessed online, professors simply post he syllabus online and the topics for discussion the next class and post the assignments and expect that everything will be handed in by the next class. Or that you would have read through the posted course work. It is therefore your responsibility to keep up and hand everything on time and be ready all the time. Your parents wouldn’t be around reminding you about homework. How your stint as a college student turns out is entirely up to you.

5. Find a study spot. For you to spend those times where you can just focus on the assignments that need to be done and read those books you paid a heck of a lot for. Make sure though, that the study spot is quiet and there won’t be distractions that can make you forget about that chapter you’re supposed to be brushing up on.

6. Have Fun. Most important of all, enjoy college life. See it as an opportunity to discover your talents, seek knowledge and enjoy the company of good friends and great professors.

Going to college should be a balance of both hard work and fun. You should and you will know when to get serious about your studies and when to just lie back, put your feet up and congratulate yourself for every job well done. Before you know it, you have survived your freshman year with flying colours and graduation is just around the corner.

McLaren F1 team will be hoping to add another world title to the CV of Lewis Hamilton. After 10 years in the wilderness they will also desperately want to win the constructors title. Last time they won that Mika Hakkinen was at the wheel for the first of his two drivers titles. In that 10 years for Ferrari and Renault have dominated the championships, leaving McLaren consistently either second or third on the list!

Now that Lewis Hamilton has proven to be a winner at McLaren his chances of repeating his success for years to come are high to say the least. Even if his championship win was shrouded in controversy he still has the evidence procedure in place that he is able to win.

Allow me just to take a moment to define evidence procedure. This is basically the fact that you have achieved a certain task and therefore gives you the belief that you are able to replicate that task again. For example if you have a goal to win a race then once that first race is won winning your second race is not going to be as difficult because you have established the evidence procedure. You can now replicate that success instead of creating it from scratch, like you had to when you hadn’t won a race or the evidence procedure was non-existent.

With that in mind the prediction that Lewis Hamilton will win another championship grows stronger. He will undoubtedly outshine his teammate and continue to become the number 1 driver for McLaren. As the desperation of getting that first championship title under his belt has also disappeared he will become a calmer driver in fraught situations that will also contribute to his future success. Kovalainen didn’t experience a great first season with McLaren, and frankly with the calibre of their team I am surprised they retained him. It seemed as though he was frequently outgunned at the front with only one victory for the F1 08 season! He will only improve with his second stint at the McLaren. He has shown that he was a quality driver in the past and obviously this contributed to him being chosen however there will be pressure to perform for him this season or he could find himself searching for a drive in 2010.

All in all the McLaren F1 Team are not going anywhere anytime soon. They have established themselves as a force within F1 racing and whether they continue to repeat the success of 2008 or they have to wait a couple more years one thing that you can bet your money on is that they will without a doubt win another championship. It is very difficult to say that Lewis Hamilton won’t win another title the mind set he has is truly that of a champion. A man called Kerry Speckman can be credited with instilling him with that. He is a renowned neuroscientist that brought some groundbreaking techniques to the way the F1 drivers train. I had the good fortune of working alongside Kerry during his time at McLaren.
