The Scholarship for Moms Program is being marketed all over the internet lately. This program goes hand in hand with an education initiative put forth by President Obama in his American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. In ARRA, higher education funding is revamped, making loans, grants, and scholarships easier to obtain. It also allots more tuition dollars to those who are eligible.
A large portion of these reforms centers on the federal Pell Grant. Pell Grants are designed to assist the most financially challenged. The target group is those who make $20K a year or less, although Pell Grants do fund families who make up to $50K a year. The highest cash value any one student can receive is being increased through ARRA. Students are eligible to receive up to $5,350 for the 2009-2010 school year. During the 2010-2011, these same students can get up to $5,500.
To be eligible for a Pell Grant, you must be an undergraduate enrolled in your 18th semester or less (lifetime limit). Your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) will be taken into consideration. Your parents must apply for the Pell Grant on your behalf unless you are over the age of 24, married, in the military, or a ward of the state. You must be a high school graduate or possess a GED.
Pell Grants can be applied for through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), found online or in any college financial aid office.
Remember, grants are not your only financial aid option. There are numerous scholarships and grants available through private organizations. Investigate the Scholarship for Moms Program and see if you qualify. With a little work, you can have the benefit of an education.

President Obama’s scholarship for moms program is popular with moms all across the nation. Obama has made it possible with combinations of a tax program and the re-vamped Pell grant, for moms to begin selecting their choice of college. Federal grants and scholarships are offered to moms who want a chance at getting that long awaited for degree. This means that all moms’ hard work has finally paid off. This goes for moms who work outside the home and inside the home. Every mom has the opportunities that every woman in America has to further their education.
As moms are joining the work industry, to help pay bills, raise the children, or just help make ends meet, many are looking to supplement their work with a degree. Having a degree means a higher salary and job advancements, and many moms are justified in wanting to obtain theirs. Moms are beginning to see these jobs as a way to establish themselves into higher-salaried jobs that were once traditionally held by men. This means, that in today’s job market, you will more than likely see a higher ratio of women to men in high-rise building, as CEOs and Presidents of big corporations. There is no limit to the field of study that a mom can enter into. There are federal and state and private grants and scholarships for each and every degree sought after.
Applications for these scholarships and grants are different for each other, as with the requirements to complete them. Some grants, like the Pell grant, offers a federal application for free aid to Moms who apply for these grants and scholarships. Moms need to do their homework before hand and dig about and get all the information they can about each loan, and its eligibility requirements. Applying for a grant or scholarship is pretty easy to do, once you know where to find them. Many colleges offer scholarships and finding one to apply for just takes asking for information from the college. There are many other private, federal and state grants that will also help the mom in completing her higher education. Help can be found at a .org site or a government site that gives out free scholarship and grant information.
As the moms of the world began a new chapter in their lives as students, family and friends are sure to stand behind them in full support. President Obama’s scholarship for moms program is popular, not only with moms, but their families also.

Ulysses S. Grant Collection Database Tutorial – Mississippi State Unviersity Libraries

The Grant Presidential Collection consists of some 10,000 linear feet of correspondence, research notes, artifacts, photographs, scrapbooks, and memorabilia and includes information on Grants childhood from his birth in 1822, his later military career, Civil War triumphs, tenure as commanding general after the war, presidency, and his post-White House years until his death in 1885. There are also 4,000 published monographs on various aspects of Grants life and times. From this collection, the series of volumes edited by John Y. Simon, entitled The Papers of Ulysses S. Grant were chosen and published by the Southern Illinois University Press. The publishing project is within 4-5 years of completion. Upon Simons death in 2008, the Ulysses S. Grant ociation, which owns the Collection, chose John F. Marszalek as Executive Director and Managing Editor of the remaining publication projects: a supplementary volume and a scholarly edition of the Grant Memoirs. The ociation also voted to place the Collection in the Congressional and Political Research Center of the Mississippi State University Libraries.
